Imported vs Thai Roses: Which Is Actually Worth the Money
Compare Thai-grown and imported roses by variety, appearance, condition and confirmed total, rather than assumed quality or transit time.

Thai-grown and imported roses can both be suitable for a gift. “Imported” describes origin, not a guarantee of larger heads, better quality or longer vase life. The useful comparison is between the flowers actually available for your order.
FlowerRova sources from private farms in Thailand and uses imports according to the flowers and availability. We do not apply a published rule that switches the entire range from Thai roses to imports in a particular month.
Compare the brief first
Colour and variety. If you need a specific rose, ask whether that cultivar is available and where it is grown. If your brief is simply “soft pink”, the florist may have more than one suitable option. Do not pay for an origin label when the requirement is really a colour.
Head size and stem length. Request a description of the current option. These affect scale and arrangement height; they should not be inferred from the country alone. A compact bouquet can be a better fit for a bedside than a long-stem presentation.
Stage of opening. Flowers for photographs today and flowers intended to open gradually may need different choices. Discuss when the bouquet will be seen rather than assuming a tightly closed bud is always preferable.
Avoid the freshness arithmetic
We cannot support a fixed “thirty hours for Thai roses versus five days for imports” comparison. Harvest time, storage and transport vary. We also cannot infer that an imported rose has used up a specified fraction of its vase life before reaching Bangkok.
Ask what the seller can confirm about the batch, and inspect its condition when it arrives. If there is no harvest record, do not substitute a regional stereotype for one. See freshness checks for their practical limits.
Compare finished-bouquet totals
Request equivalent counts, wrapping, card, vase requirements and delivery address. A quote for loose stems is not equivalent to an arranged, delivered bouquet. There is no substantiated market-wide import multiplier in this guide.
FlowerRova's 20-rose bouquet is currently ฿3,299 and its 100-rose bouquet ฿8,999. Check the selected product and confirm any special variety request separately. These prices do not promise a specific country of origin.
When origin is part of your decision
You may prefer Thai-grown flowers or specifically want an imported variety. Say so before ordering and agree whether substitution is acceptable. Environmental comparisons need information about growing, refrigeration and transport; we have not calculated a product footprint and do not claim one origin is always lower-carbon.
If the preferred option is unavailable, ask for a suitable alternative or a different delivery date. Read our sourcing guide or send your brief to discuss the current options.
